Martin Cregg Photography

Foreign Eyes (On Fryslan) project represents the physical and psychological experience of traversing the terrain of Fryslan, as a photographer and as an outsider, with a given objective of ‘finding’ a vision of the place through the photographic lens.

There is an over-riding sense of an outsiders’ perspective - a photographer on a lonely journey through an unfamiliar place. In a sense this is a project about the processes of doing a photographic commission. Perhaps it’s a project about doing a project; the endeavors and methods of finding a place though photography - the frustrations and successes.
